Tax Compliance Manager

About the role

Deloitte West Africa is recruiting a Tax Compliance Manager for its internal Finance Team, based in Lagos, Nigeria. The role oversees the firm's end-to-end internal tax compliance and acts as the internal tax expert advisor across all firm departments. Key responsibilities

• Oversee staff PAYE, statutory deduction remittances, Tax Clearance Certificate (TCC) processing, annual staff tax audits and PenCom certification compliance
• File partner tax returns, manage partner personal income tax, process partner TCCs, monitor WHT utilization and answer partner tax queries
• Compute and remit monthly VAT and withholding tax (WHT) for clients and vendors, and answer internal tax queries
• Manage Federal (FIRS) and State Revenue Service tax audits and handle formal objections to tax and pension audit reports
• Maintain the firm's annual tax calendar, prepare monthly compliance status reports and reconcile tax ledger balances

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree (B.Sc.) or Higher National Diploma (HND) in Accounting or a related field, with a minimum of Second Class Lower / Lower Credit division
• Minimum 5 credits in WASSCE/NECO including Mathematics and English in one sitting
• Full qualification or membership in ICAN, CITN or ACCA
• At least 6 years of progressive corporate tax compliance experience, including direct engagement with revenue authority officials

Required skills

• In-depth knowledge of Nigerian tax laws, statutory regulations and tax audit procedures
• Advanced MS Excel
• Knowledge of ERP and tax compliance software systems
