Finance & Commercial Director

About the role

TAG E & P, an integrated service company offering oilfield products and support services in the Nigerian oil and gas industry, is hiring a Finance & Commercial Director in Lekki. The position is permanent and on-site, and the deadline to apply is 31 December 2026.

Key responsibilities

• Build bid economics for each target block under the PIA fiscal regime and recommend the bid price and signature bonus.
• Prepare financial capacity evidence for prequalification and bids: audited accounts, bank letters and funding commitments.
• Lead fundraising: equity partners, reserve-based or crude-backed lending, and DFI or local bank facilities.
• Fund the signature bonus and licence fees once awarded.
• Lead commercial negotiations on crude offtake, gas monetisation, tie-in and tariff agreements.
• Set up licence-holder accounting, budgeting and audit, separate from TAG Energy's service-company books.
• Manage tax, FX and treasury exposure for a dollar-revenue, naira-cost business.

Required profile

• 15+ years in finance, with 6+ in upstream oil and gas at a licence holder, bank energy desk or advisory firm.
• Has closed at least one upstream equity raise, RBL or acquisition financing in Nigeria or Africa.
• Deep working knowledge of PIA fiscal terms and petroleum economics.
• Existing relationships with Nigerian banks, Afreximbank, DFIs or upstream-focused funds.

Required skills

• ICAN, ACCA or CFA qualification.
• Strong financial modelling.
• Crude marketing or gas sales contract experience.
