Social Media Intern

About the role

The Social Media Intern will support Abodes Lagos’ digital presence by preparing, organising, and publishing content across its social platforms. This position is ideal for an enthusiastic, creative learner seeking hands‑on experience in social media coordination and digital marketing.

Key responsibilities

• Assist with preparing and maintaining social media content calendars.
• Draft captions, post descriptions, and basic copy aligned with the brand voice.
• Schedule and publish approved content on Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, LinkedIn, etc.
• Monitor comments, messages, and audience engagement, escalating issues as needed.
• Research trends, hashtags, competitor activity, and generate content ideas.
• Support collection and organisation of photos, videos, graphics, and other assets.
• Track basic performance metrics such as reach, engagement, views, and follower growth.
• Prepare simple performance summaries and suggest practical improvements.

Required profile

• Genuine interest in social media, digital marketing, and online communities.
• Good written communication, attention to detail, and ability to follow brand guidelines.
• Willingness to learn, receive feedback, and meet agreed deadlines.
• Prior professional experience not mandatory; demonstrated initiative is valued.

Required skills

• Basic familiarity with Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, and LinkedIn.
• Comfort using Canva for graphic creation.
• Proficiency with Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Slides).
• Experience with social media scheduling tools is an advantage.
