Senior Mechanical Design Engineer – REVIT

About the role

The Senior Mechanical Design Engineer will lead the mechanical design of equipment, systems and components for engineering and construction projects in Nigeria. This full‑time, on‑site position covers the whole design lifecycle from concept to detailed documentation.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and review design calculations, technical specifications and 3D models using CAD/REVIT.
• Create and check detailed drawings, ensure compliance with codes, standards and client requirements.
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams, support procurement and fabrication with clear documentation.
• Resolve design‑related issues during construction and mentor junior engineers and designers.
• Participate in design reviews and contribute to continuous improvement of design processes.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related discipline.
• Several years of experience in mechanical design within engineering, construction or manufacturing environments.
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving and documentation skills with attention to detail.
• Proven ability to lead projects, coordinate multidisciplinary teams and guide junior staff.

Required skills

• Mechanical engineering fundamentals and machine design.
• Component sizing, material selection and failure analysis.
• Advanced CAD and 3D modelling (including REVIT).
• Knowledge of international and local engineering standards and codes.
