Estimation Engineer – Firefighting Systems

About the role

NAFFCO Nigeria is seeking an Estimation Engineer specialized in fire‑fighting systems to prepare accurate bills of quantities, cost estimates and competitive tender submissions for projects across industrial, oil & gas, commercial and infrastructure sectors.

Key responsibilities

• Review tender documents, specifications and drawings, raise RFIs and conduct site surveys with the sales team.
• Perform quantity take‑offs from AutoCAD drawings and prepare BOQs separating supply and installation rates.
• Prepare RFQs for suppliers and subcontractors, evaluate offers and compile complete tender packages.
• Monitor tender deadlines, bonds and submission requirements, and maintain tender registers and document control.
• Price variations, AMC work and counter‑sales for stock items and spare parts.
• Maintain and update the price and rates database and compare estimates with actual project costs.

Required profile

• B.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering.
• 3–5 years experience in estimation or tendering for fire‑fighting systems (sprinklers, hydrants, fire pumps, foam or gas suppression).
• Good knowledge of NFPA standards and UAE Civil Defence requirements.
• Strong ability to manage multiple tenders and meet tight deadlines.

Required skills

• Advanced Excel.
• Reading AutoCAD drawings.
• Experience with estimating software (advantageous).
• Familiarity with ERP systems such as Odoo.
