Pump Operator

About the role

The Pump Operator will work on a construction site in Guzape, Abuja, ensuring that all pumping equipment operates safely and efficiently according to site procedures.

Key responsibilities

• Operate pumps and related equipment in line with site requirements and operating procedures.
• Inspect pumps, hoses, pipes, valves, and connections before and during operation.
• Monitor pump performance and promptly report faults, leaks, blockages, or breakdowns.
• Carry out routine cleaning and basic maintenance of pumping equipment.
• Monitor fluid levels, pressure, and flow to ensure efficient operation.
• Keep records of pump usage, maintenance, and operational issues where required.
• Perform other related duties assigned by the Site Engineer or Construction Manager.

Required profile

• Minimum of SSCE or equivalent.
• Previous experience operating pumps, preferably on a construction site, is an advantage.
• Basic knowledge of pump operation, troubleshooting, and maintenance.
• Ability to follow instructions and work effectively with other site personnel.
• Physically fit and able to work in a construction environment.
