Senior Quantity Surveyor – Procurement & Supply Chain Management

About the role

Seismic Consulting Limited is looking for a senior quantity surveyor with strong procurement and supply chain expertise to lead complex educational infrastructure projects. The role involves managing the full procurement lifecycle from cost estimation to contract close‑out.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and review Bills of Quantities, cost estimates, budgets and technical specifications for infrastructure and equipment.
• Develop procurement strategies, tender documents and bid evaluation frameworks aligned with donor and regulatory requirements.
• Identify, evaluate and manage suppliers and contractors to ensure competitive pricing, timely delivery and compliance.
• Administer contracts, handle variations, certify payments, monitor performance and prevent disputes.
• Support installation and verification of specialised workshop equipment and institutional infrastructure.
• Conduct market surveys, value engineering and risk assessments to optimise costs.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying or related field; master’s degree is an advantage.
• Minimum 10 years of progressive experience in quantity surveying, procurement and contract administration, with at least 5 years in senior roles.
• Proven track record managing three or more substantial procurement or infrastructure contracts, preferably donor‑funded.
• Strong knowledge of Nigerian public procurement practices and relevant regulatory standards.
• Professional membership with NIQS/QSRBN preferred.

Required skills

• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Experience with quantity surveying, estimating and cost management software.
• Expertise in tender preparation, BOQ development and contract negotiation.
• Familiarity with international procurement guidelines (World Bank, AfDB) and FIDIC contracts.
