Senior Automotive Electrical & Diagnostics Specialist

About the role

ABMTEK LIMITED is seeking a senior hands‑on specialist to diagnose complex electrical and electronic faults in modern European and Japanese vehicles. The role involves ECU and control‑module coding, programming, and raising workshop diagnostic standards.

Key responsibilities

• Diagnose complex electrical, electronic and control‑module faults using a structured, evidence‑based process.
• Perform ECU coding, programming, configuration, adaptation, calibration and relearning procedures using approved methods.
• Diagnose CAN/LIN communication faults, module‑network failures, parasitic drains, intermittent faults, sensor and actuator issues, and wiring problems.
• Use wiring diagrams, live data, multimeters, oscilloscopes and professional diagnostic platforms to confirm root causes before recommending parts or repairs.
• Produce clear diagnostic reports covering the complaint, tests performed, findings, root cause, repair recommendation and post‑repair verification.

Required profile

• At least 7 years of hands‑on experience in advanced automotive electrical and electronic diagnostics.
• Proven ability to solve difficult faults independently rather than relying on code clearing or parts replacement.
• Practical experience with ECU/module coding, programming, adaptation and configuration.
• Strong knowledge of CAN/LIN networks, electrical testing, wiring‑diagram interpretation and oscilloscope‑based diagnosis.
• Experience with professional OEM or high‑level multi‑brand diagnostic platforms.
