Senior Accountant (Part-Time Hybrid)

About the role

Mark Az Consulting Firm NT Limited, a Nigerian company focused on international trade, agricultural commodity sourcing and export, is hiring a Senior Accountant. The position is part-time and hybrid, based in Edo State, Nigeria, combining on-site work with some work-from-home flexibility. The accountant oversees day-to-day accounting operations for international trade and agricultural exports.

Key responsibilities

• Manage general ledger entries, prepare financial statements and ensure accurate recording of transactions.
• Handle budgeting, forecasting, cash flow monitoring and cost analysis.
• Review invoices, reconciliations and tax-related documentation to support compliance with local and international regulations.
• Collaborate with management to provide financial insights, support internal controls and help develop financial policies.
• Liaise with external auditors, banks and regulatory bodies, and prepare periodic financial reports for leadership and stakeholders.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field; professional certification (e.g. ACA, ACCA or equivalent) is highly desirable.
• Prior experience in a senior accounting or similar role.
• Experience with tax compliance, regulatory reporting and familiarity with Nigerian accounting standards; knowledge of international trade finance is an advantage.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines and keep confidential and ethical financial information secure.

Required skills

• Financial accounting and reporting, including general ledger management, financial statements and account reconciliations.
• Budgeting, forecasting, cost analysis and cash flow management.
• Competence in accounting and ERP software and advanced Microsoft Excel.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving and attention-to-detail skills, and the ability to explain financial information to non-finance stakeholders.
