Project Accountant – Capital & Investment Projects

About the role

The Project Accountant will manage accounting, financial control and reporting for capital and investment projects at Golden Sugar Company, Sunti. The role ensures all project expenditures are accurately recorded, controlled and aligned with approved budgets from initiation through completion.

Key responsibilities

• Register and monitor purchase requisitions, purchase orders, advance and mobilisation payments, certifications, GRNs, invoices and contractor payments.
• Maintain a CAPEX register showing approved budget, actual expenditure, committed expenditure, forecast-to-complete, balance available and project status.
• Monitor and analyse actual project expenditure against approved budgets and flag cost variances to the Project Leader and Head of Finance.
• Ensure appropriate project, work centre and financial dimensions are set up in Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance and that all transactions are correctly coded.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics or related field.
• Membership in ICAN, ACCA, ACA or CIMA.
• Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience, preferably in manufacturing/FMCG.
• Strong understanding of contract accounting, CAPEX accounting and procurement procedures.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance.
• Experience in end‑to‑end CAPEX cycle management and project financial controls.
