Payroll Lending Manager – Private Sector

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Payroll Lending Manager to lead the growth of our private‑sector payroll lending portfolio in Nigeria. The role combines business development, underwriting, risk management and portfolio performance responsibilities.

Key responsibilities

• Identify, onboard and manage private‑sector employer partnerships, including corporates and SMEs.
• Drive loan origination, disbursement volumes and portfolio growth while meeting risk appetite.
• Develop and continuously improve underwriting criteria and deduction management processes.
• Monitor employer‑level risk indicators and take actions to protect portfolio quality.
• Prepare regular performance reports covering sales pipeline, loan volumes, PAR, NPL and compliance.
• Travel extensively across Nigeria to build and sustain employer relationships.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration or related field.
• 6–10 years of experience in consumer or retail lending with exposure to payroll or check‑off lending.
• Proven track record of managing a lending portfolio and driving growth.
• Strong credit risk judgement and portfolio analytics skills.
• Relevant professional certification (CIBN, RIMAN, ICAN or equivalent) is a plus.

Required skills

• Experience with loan management systems and reporting tools.
• Knowledge of private‑sector payroll/check‑off lending structures.
• Stakeholder management, negotiation and relationship management abilities.

What we offer

• Net salary of ₦700,000 – ₦900,000 plus growth bonus.
