Job description
About the role
The Partnerships and Fundraising Associate sustains TMA's mission of providing free education, meals, materials and staff salaries by building a diverse and stable funding ecosystem. Working closely with the Executive Director, the role identifies new sources of support, nurtures existing relationships and helps contributors understand the impact of their generosity, which directly influences student retention and educational quality.
Key responsibilities
- Assist the Executive Director in shaping the annual fundraising strategy by analysing historical revenue data, donor patterns and opportunities across individual donations, sponsorships, corporate alliances, grants, events and in-kind contributions.
- Investigate and recommend new revenue streams such as recurring donations, payroll deductions, diaspora networks and community faith groups.
- Monitor fundraising progress against targets and identify gaps early so leadership can plan proactively.
- Identify and vet potential partners (corporations with CSR, foundations, development agencies, embassies, NGOs), prepare prospect briefs and develop proposals, pitch presentations and engagement materials.
- Support the Executive Director in pitch meetings and follow-ups, and manage the documentation for partnership agreements and MOUs.
- Maintain a grant deadline schedule, draft and submit concept notes, budgets and proposals with the Programs and Finance teams, and track reporting dates and narrative reports for funders.
- Pursue in-kind opportunities (supplies, food, uniforms, technology, venues, professional services) and help design recurring giving tiers.
- Prepare briefing materials, track interactions and organise site visits for major individual donors; plan and run digital and physical campaigns such as crowdfunding and social media drives.
- Manage event logistics, evaluate performance against costs and objectives, and carry out the stewardship strategy (acknowledgments, impact updates, school tours).
- Monitor donor retention, re-engage lapsed supporters and maintain a donor and partner database in the CRM, reconciling donations with Finance.
- Produce monthly and quarterly reports on funds raised, pipeline, retention and targets, collaborate on impact reports and newsletters, and represent the organisation at networking events.
- Ensure all student stories, images and data used in fundraising comply with consent and anonymity protocols.
