Partnerships and Communications Associate

About the role

The Safeguarding Children Initiative is looking for a Partnerships and Communications Associate in Maiduguri. The role advances the initiative's mission by raising its public profile, building strategic alliances and managing its communication strategy, so that its achievements and impact can be shared clearly with stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

• Communications and visibility: create content for digital platforms and newsletters, write program highlights, success stories, activity recaps and announcements, and design presentations, brochures and reports that match the brand.
• Capture programs through photography, interviews and storytelling, following consent and safeguarding protocols, and keep all communications precise, inclusive and consistent.
• Partnership development: research prospective donors, foundations, corporate entities and civil society groups; manage the central partner database; help draft proposals, concept notes, profiles and decks; coordinate meetings, site visits and networking events; record interactions and follow-ups.
• Resource mobilization: track funding opportunities and grant deadlines, gather data for grant applications and proposals, prepare capacity statements and program overviews, and document partnership outcomes.
• Internal coordination: work with program and MEAL teams on accurate reporting data, keep a repository of approved communications and documents, share updates internally, and carry out other assigned duties.
