Operations Officer – Payments Reconciliation

About the role

The Operations Officer will ensure accurate daily reconciliation of transactions across all payment channels and partner platforms. You will work closely with finance, ICT, partner banks and payment service providers to maintain smooth settlement processes.

Key responsibilities

• Perform daily reconciliation of transactions across all payment channels and partner platforms.
• Prepare and process settlement reports for merchants, banks, agents and other stakeholders.
• Investigate and resolve reconciliation discrepancies and settlement exceptions promptly.
• Monitor settlement accounts and ensure timely funding and settlement.
• Liaise with Finance, ICT, partner banks and payment service providers to resolve transaction issues.
• Maintain accurate reconciliation and settlement records for audit and regulatory purposes.
• Prepare daily, weekly and monthly reconciliation and settlement reports.
• Escalate unresolved issues according to the approved escalation process.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, CBN guidelines and operational procedures.
• Support process improvement initiatives to enhance reconciliation and settlement efficiency.

Required profile

• Minimum BSc degree.
• At least 1 year of experience in a similar reconciliation or settlement role.
• Strong analytical mindset and attention to detail.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
