Head of Financial Planning, Budget & Control

About the role

The Head of Financial Planning, Budget & Control will provide strategic financial leadership for the African Medical Centre of Excellence in Abuja. Reporting to senior management, the role ensures financial sustainability, drives budgeting processes and oversees treasury functions as the centre prepares for its 2025 launch.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement long‑term financial strategies, policies and procedures aligned with organisational objectives.
• Lead financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, reporting and treasury activities, ensuring compliance with IFRS/GAAP.
• Oversee in‑depth financial analysis, variance analysis and cash‑flow management to identify risks and opportunities.
• Build and mentor a high‑performing finance team and maintain strong relationships with senior management, board members and external auditors.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance; MBA or related master’s degree is an advantage.
• CPA, CFA or equivalent professional certification.
• Minimum 10 years of finance experience, with at least 5 years in a leadership role, preferably in healthcare or a regulated industry.
• Proven track record in financial planning, budgeting, forecasting and managing financial systems.
