Operation Officer - Construction Projects

About the role

This role is central to the smooth execution of construction projects, managing daily site activities and keeping strict adherence to project timelines. It acts as a hub for operational efficiency, linking administration, human resources, engineering teams and senior leadership. The incumbent oversees procurement, logistics and financial controls so that resources are used effectively, costs stay within budget and stakeholders are aligned to meet milestones.

Key responsibilities

• Orchestrate daily activities across all construction locations so that project schedules are met without delay.
• Direct the acquisition of essential building materials such as cement, reinforcement bars, sand and blocks, negotiating favourable terms with vendors.
• Supervise the transport and deployment of materials, heavy machinery and fleet vehicles to job sites.
• Track project financials and operational expenses with the Quantity Surveyor to prevent budget overruns.
• Facilitate communication and resource allocation between Administration, HR, Site Engineers and Project Management teams.
• Generate daily operation, stock and progress reports for the Managing Director's review.
• Design and implement streamlined workflows and systems to improve operational speed and efficiency.
