Network & Cybersecurity Engineer

About the role

A full-time Network & Cybersecurity position based in Lagos, Marina, focused on keeping the company's network infrastructure, connectivity and data secure, reliable and accessible.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor and maintain the company's network infrastructure and connectivity.
• Identify, investigate and resolve network performance and security issues.
• Monitor systems for potential cyber threats, vulnerabilities and suspicious activity.
• Implement and maintain network security measures, firewalls and access controls.
• Carry out routine security checks, updates and vulnerability assessments.
• Respond to security incidents and document findings.

Required profile

• Relevant professional experience in network engineering, network administration, cybersecurity or IT infrastructure.
• Quality experience in BGP peering, Arista setup, data centre racking and similar work.
• Strong understanding of computer networking, network architecture and infrastructure management.
• Ability to document network configurations, technical incidents, security procedures and implemented solutions.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, communication and problem-solving skills.

Required skills

• TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, routing, switching and network protocols.
• Configuring, managing and troubleshooting routers, switches, firewalls, VPNs and related equipment.
• Cybersecurity principles, threat prevention, vulnerability management, access control, authentication, endpoint protection, patch management and security best practices.
• Network monitoring, security logging, incident detection and incident response.
• Familiarity with Windows and/or Linux system administration, cloud networking and security, and AWS, Microsoft Azure or GCP services.
• Backup, disaster recovery, business continuity and secure network design.
• Preferred: CCNA, CCNP, CompTIA Network+, CompTIA Security+, CompTIA CySA+, CISSP or relevant Microsoft/AWS/Google Cloud certifications.
