Cybersecurity Analyst Tier 1

About the role

A Cybersecurity Analyst Tier 1 monitors, triages and escalates security events across customer IT environments and detection and monitoring technologies. As the first line of defense, the analyst helps detect and respond to potential security breaches quickly and contributes to threat intelligence collection.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor security events generated by detection, monitoring and analysis tools
• Triage security incidents and escalate them according to the process
• Follow playbooks to respond to incidents within SLA requirements
• Stay aware of threat intelligence feeds, open-source platforms and other data sources for emerging threats
• Create regular reports on security events, trends and system health, and provide summaries and documentation for escalated incidents and shift handover
• Attend monthly training and development workshops and contribute to improving SOC processes and procedures

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, information security or a related field; CompTIA Security+ and CEH certifications are a plus
• 0 to 2 years of experience in cybersecurity, IT or related fields
• Knowledge of security concepts, technologies and best practices
• Proficiency in written and spoken English; additional languages are a plus

Required skills

• Basic networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP/S)
• Basic use of SIEM, IDS/IPS, firewalls, antivirus and EDR tools
• Understanding of Windows and Linux and common applications
