Internal Control Officer

About the role

The Internal Control Officer will ensure the integrity of billing, invoicing, inventory, and financial processes across Cedarcrest Hospitals' facilities in Abuja and Lagos. This role supports compliance with regulatory standards and internal risk management frameworks.

Key responsibilities

• Review and sign off on HMO/NHIA and corporate invoices, ensuring pre‑authorization, tariff accuracy and minimizing disputes.
• Conduct weekly physical stock counts in pharmacies, theatres and stores, compare with system balances and investigate variances.
• Perform three‑way matching of purchase orders, goods received notes and vendor invoices to verify quantity and price compliance.
• Carry out routine and surprise spot‑checks of clinical and administrative areas to verify adherence to SOPs, MDCN guidelines and accreditation standards.
• Review payroll records, petty cash disbursements, expense requests and bank reconciliation statements for proper approvals.
• Monitor access controls, billing configurations and audit trails in Afya Serve and Zoho Books, escalating any unauthorized changes.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Afya Serve financial system.
• Experience using Zoho Books for accounting and audit trails.
