Head of Capital Formation & Investor Relations

About the role

FDN Capital Partners is seeking a senior leader to head its Capital Formation and Investor Relations function. Reporting directly to the Managing Partner, you will develop a global investor network and drive capital formation for the firm’s investment opportunities.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute capital formation strategies, identifying and engaging appropriate capital providers across family offices, institutional investors, sovereign funds and high‑net‑worth individuals.
• Lead investor engagement from introduction through due diligence, negotiation and commitment, working closely with the investment team to craft compelling propositions.
• Build and maintain senior‑level relationships worldwide, expanding the firm’s network across Africa, the Middle East, Europe, North America and other markets.
• Identify new sources of capital, match investment opportunities with suitable investors, and coordinate feedback to internal teams.
• Develop strategic partnerships with banks, placement agents and other intermediaries to enhance visibility and facilitate co‑investments.
• Maintain a comprehensive investor relationship management system, leveraging AI‑powered research tools to improve discovery and qualification.

Required profile

• Significant experience in capital raising, investor relations, private equity, investment banking or related financial services.
• Proven track record of originating and managing relationships with institutional investors, family offices or sophisticated capital providers.
• Deep understanding of private capital markets, investment structures, due‑diligence processes and fundraising dynamics.
• Excellent commercial judgment, negotiation skills and ability to communicate complex investment opportunities persuasively.
• High standards of professionalism, confidentiality, integrity and accountability.
