Head of Treasury & Payables

About the role

The Head of Treasury & Payables is responsible for shaping treasury strategy, managing liquidity, overseeing banking relationships, and optimizing working capital. The role ensures cash resources are deployed to support growth, partner distributions, operational needs, and strategic investments while maintaining strong controls and regulatory compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute the firm’s treasury strategy aligned with business and financial objectives.
• Advise the CFO on liquidity, capital allocation, and treasury risk matters.
• Drive treasury transformation initiatives, including automation and process optimisation.
• Maintain optimal liquidity levels to support operational, strategic and partner‑related obligations.
• Oversee firm‑wide cash positioning, daily liquidity monitoring and divisional cash generation.
• Monitor working capital requirements and recommend improvement initiatives.
• Manage partner capital accounts, drawings, distributions and related settlements.
• Oversee funding arrangements, cash allocations and payment schedules.
• Ensure effective vendor relationship management, payment controls and statutory remittances (WHT, VAT, PAYE).
• Prepare treasury reports and dashboards for the CFO and support internal and external audits.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in any discipline (minimum Second‑Class Upper Division).
• Minimum 7 years progressive finance experience, with at least 4–5 years in treasury, cash management or accounts payable leadership.
• Strong experience managing banking relationships and payment operations.
• Professional accounting qualification (ACA, ACCA, CPA or equivalent) and optional treasury certification (ACT, CTP, CFA).
