Chief Financial Officer

About the role

SmartCity PLC is seeking an experienced Chief Financial Officer to lead its financial strategy, treasury, capital management, investment oversight and risk management across its real‑estate and infrastructure portfolio in Nigeria.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee liquidity, working capital, fundraising, banking relationships and optimise the capital structure.
• Ensure accurate IFRS‑compliant reporting, robust internal controls, budgeting, audits and financial governance.
• Lead financial planning, investment analysis, due diligence, valuations, capital allocation and advise on strategic transactions.
• Manage financial risk, tax planning, regulatory compliance, insurance and asset protection.
• Build and lead a high‑performing finance team and maintain relationships with investors, lenders, the Board and other stakeholders.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics or related field.
• Professional qualification such as ACA, ACCA, CFA (or equivalent); MBA is a plus.
• Minimum 15 years of progressive finance experience, including at least 5 years in a senior leadership role.
• Proven experience in real‑estate investment, private equity, hospitality or infrastructure finance.
• Experience working with international investors, DFIs or multilateral agencies is advantageous.
