Grant Writer Associate

About the role

This position is pivotal in advancing the organization's core mission across education, youth development and community engagement by leading the strategic discovery, design and submission of funding proposals. It acts as a bridge between programmatic and finance departments, researching funding opportunities, interpreting requirements and building budgets and stories. The role covers the full grant lifecycle, from identifying opportunities to submission and donor reporting.

Key responsibilities

• Research and assess new grant prospects, funding sources and strategic alliances that support organizational goals.
• Evaluate grant guidelines, eligibility rules, application questions and priority themes to ensure compliance and alignment.
• Maintain and refresh a central repository tracking potential grants, deadlines, application progress and results.
• Partner with program units to gather project details such as objectives, activities and impact indicators for concept notes, inquiry letters and full proposals.
• Support the creation of project budgets that match financial requests with planned activities and funder mandates.
• Write and polish organizational profiles, program overviews and impact summaries.
• Review and edit all application components for clarity, accuracy and adherence to funder specifications.
• Set up and manage a secure digital archive of supporting documentation.
• Facilitate the final compilation and on-time delivery of grant applications.
