Financial System Strengthening Associate Consultant – Sokoto

About the role

The Financial System Strengthening (FSS) Associate Consultant will support the Sokoto State Primary Healthcare Development Agency and the Sokoto State Ministry of Health under the EU SARAH grant. The role involves strengthening financial management systems and ensuring donor compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Work closely with the IPM Specialist, Financial Management Team and Health Programme Team to improve financial controls and reporting.
• Provide technical assistance to state health agencies on budgeting, financial reporting and internal audit processes.
• Support donor-funded health programmes, ensuring compliance with EU grant requirements.

Required profile

• University degree in Social Sciences, Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, Audit or related field.
• Minimum 5 years progressive experience in financial management, accounting and donor‑funded health programmes.
• Experience working with government institutions and sub‑national health agencies is an advantage.

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of financial management, budgeting and financial reporting.
• Expertise in donor compliance, grant management and public financial management systems.
• Excellent report writing, presentation and stakeholder engagement abilities.
