Field Civil Engineer

About the role

The Field Civil Engineer will supervise and coordinate all civil construction activities on site for Alaro City, a large mixed‑use development in Lagos, Nigeria. Reporting to the project management team, you will ensure works are carried out in line with approved drawings, specifications, quality, safety and schedule requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate daily site activities among contractors, subcontractors, consultants and internal project teams.
• Conduct daily inspections to verify workmanship and compliance with technical specifications.
• Review engineering drawings, Bills of Quantities and other technical documents before implementation.
• Monitor progress, prepare reports and support cost control throughout the project lifecycle.
• Resolve technical issues on‑site and ensure adherence to HSE and QA/QC standards.
• Mentor field personnel and promote best practices.

Required profile

• Degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
• Proven experience supervising civil construction projects on site.
• Strong knowledge of construction methods, safety regulations and quality control procedures.
• Ability to communicate effectively with diverse stakeholders.

Required skills

• Interpretation of engineering drawings.
• Preparation and review of Bills of Quantities (BOQ).
• Application of technical specifications.
• Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) compliance.
• Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QA/QC) processes.
