Chief Finance Officer (CFO)

About the role

The Chief Finance Officer (CFO) will act as a strategic partner to the CEO and executive team at Layer3, a fast‑growing network and security infrastructure provider in West Africa. Based in Abuja, the CFO will lead financial planning, risk management and capital raising to support the company’s multi‑year growth agenda across cloud, network infrastructure, broadband and managed services.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute the company’s financial strategy aligned with long‑term growth plans.
• Lead budgeting, rolling forecasts, KPI reporting and performance management for all business units.
• Optimize working capital, cash flow, treasury operations and banking relationships.
• Drive profitability improvement, cost optimisation and revenue‑assurance initiatives.
• Oversee capital‑raise activities, including equity, debt and infrastructure financing, and manage partnerships with banks, DFIs and investors.
• Ensure compliance with IFRS, supervise accounting, audit, tax planning and internal controls.
• Support pricing strategy, cost modelling and margin optimisation across product lines.
• Manage procurement governance and vendor relationships to ensure value‑for‑money.

Required profile

• Proven senior finance leadership experience in a fast‑growing technology or telecom environment.
• Strong strategic thinking with a hands‑on approach to financial operations.
• Demonstrated ability to raise capital and manage complex financing structures.
• Excellent stakeholder management skills, capable of advising the CEO on investment and expansion decisions.
