Architectural Technologist / CAD Draftman

About the role

The CADD Draftman translates design concepts into precise technical documentation for construction and fabrication projects. Using advanced CAD software, the role produces accurate 2D and 3D drawings while adhering to project standards, dimensions and building codes. The person acts as a link between architects, engineers and project teams, producing detailed technical records and supporting design and execution through drafting and on-site measurement verification.

Key responsibilities

• Generate precise 2D and 3D drawings using specialized CAD software.
• Create architectural, structural and technical drawings from initial design concepts.
• Update and modify existing drawings to reflect project requirements and design revisions.
• Analyse sketches, specifications and technical data to inform the drafting process.
• Verify that drawings meet project standards, dimensional accuracy and building codes.
• Collaborate with architects, engineers and other stakeholders to align drafting outputs with project goals.
• Produce detailed drawings for construction and fabrication activities.
• Organize and maintain systematic records of drawings and project documentation.
• Perform site measurements and update drawings accordingly.
• Support project teams with technical drafting and design documentation.

Required profile

• Proficiency in CAD software for accurate 2D and 3D technical drawings.
• Ability to develop architectural, structural and technical drawings from conceptual designs.
• Experience modifying and updating drawings as project requirements change.
• Strong ability to interpret sketches, specifications and technical information.
• Knowledge of project standards, dimensions and relevant building codes.
• Effective communication skills for working with architects, engineers and other professionals.
• Competence in preparing detailed drawings for construction and fabrication.
• Organizational skills to keep structured records of drawings and documentation.
• Experience taking site measurements and updating drawings from field data.
