Account/Finance Assistant

About the role

A non-profit and NGO organization is looking for a motivated, detail-oriented Account/Finance Assistant to support its financial operations. The role covers accounting functions from daily transactions to financial reporting, and suits someone early in their career who wants to build financial skills in a mission-driven environment.

Key responsibilities

• Record finances accurately and keep organized ledgers using accrual accounting principles.
• Help prepare financial forecasts and budget projections to support strategic planning.
• Coordinate with internal and external auditors to ensure smooth audits and compliance.
• Use spreadsheet software and database tools to enter data, track expenses and generate reports.
• Work with the team to streamline financial workflows and meet departmental goals.
• Use CRM systems and other digital tools to manage donor information and financial interactions.
• Maintain confidentiality of sensitive financial information and uphold professional ethics.

Required profile

• 0 to 2 years of relevant work experience in accounting, finance or a related field.
• Strong foundational knowledge of accounting concepts such as accruals, forecasting and audit procedures.
• Excellent computer literacy, basic IT skills and proven reliability and punctuality.
• Ability to work collaboratively, with strong analytical, problem-solving and attention-to-detail skills.
• Effective verbal and written communication, sound judgment on confidential matters, and negotiation and presentation skills for fundraising and financial discussions.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel and Word, including complex spreadsheets.
• Competence in CRM systems and data entry and management.
