Graduate Accounting Intern

About the role

A full-time Graduate Accounting Intern position based in Ikoyi, Lagos. The intern supports the preparation, examination and analysis of accounting records and financial reports, and takes part in day-to-day accounting and payroll work.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare, examine and analyse accounting records and financial reports to check accuracy, completeness and compliance with reporting and procedural standards.
• Appraise, evaluate and take inventory of company assets while maintaining an asset register.
• Record, reconcile and post petty cash and fuel imprest accounts; reconcile payments and receipts.
• Confirm customer deposits and issue receipts.
• Manage all accounting transactions and administer payrolls, controlling income and expenditure.
• Audit financial information.
• Compile and present reports, budgets, business plans, commentaries and financial statements.
• Perform any other related tasks as assigned.

Required profile

• HND or B.Sc degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field.
• At least 1 year of post-graduation experience in a relevant accounting role.
• Analytical mindset and attention to detail.
• Knowledge and competency in accounting principles.
