Director of Investment (Agriculture and Food Systems Desk)

About the role

Brendan Nicholas Holdings (BNH), a permanent capital institution that builds and holds companies for the long term, is inviting applications for a founding Director of Investment for its Agriculture and Food Systems desk. The Director will build the desk's portfolio from its first company, report to the Managing Director, and the position is based in Abuja.

Key responsibilities

• Hold the mandate for the desk and report to the Managing Director.
• Appoint the chief executive and constitute the board of each company on the desk.
• Present capital cases to the Investment Committee and set the desk's strategy.
• Originate the desk's next companies.

Required profile

• Experience carrying an asset from origination to operation.
• Experience holding decision authority over capital.
• Experience building boards.
• Able to bring regulators, development finance institutions and industrial counterparties together around a single asset.
• Candidates currently outside Nigeria are welcome; the position is based in Abuja.
