Accountant - Real Estate

About the role

A real estate property development and construction company based in Abuja, Nigeria, is looking for a highly competent, proactive and detail-oriented Accountant to manage its financial records, monitor transactions and support sound financial decision-making. The role suits someone who is hands-on, analytical and commercially aware, able to work independently in a fast-paced environment.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain accurate financial records of income, expenses, assets and liabilities
• Prepare and maintain financial statements, management accounts and periodic reports
• Monitor cash flow, expenditures and project budgets, including property development and construction costs
• Manage accounts payable and receivable, and reconcile bank statements and balances regularly
• Prepare budgets, forecasts and projections, and ensure compliance with tax regulations and accounting standards
• Process invoices, receipts and payments; investigate discrepancies and strengthen internal controls
• Liaise with banks, auditors and tax consultants, and support financial audits
• Provide management with financial insights and cost-efficiency recommendations

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree or HND in Accounting, Finance or a related field
• Professional qualification such as ICAN or ACCA is an added advantage
• 3-5 years of accounting experience, preferably in real estate, property development or construction
• Strong integrity, professionalism and confidentiality, with good communication skills

Required skills

• Knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, budgeting and financial management
• Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel
• Analytical, numerical and problem-solving skills

What we offer

• Salary budget of N400,000 to N500,000 per month
