Tax Manager

About the role

A full-time, on-site Tax Manager position in Lagos, advertised by Jobberman on behalf of a client. The client offers consulting and strategic advice to management, covering accounting and audit, financial planning, tax management, tax compliance, debt recovery and management consulting. The ideal candidate understands tax laws well and has hands-on experience across all areas of taxation, including strategic tax planning and advisory.

Key responsibilities

• Provide tax advisory and compliance services to clients on all tax returns.
• Develop and implement tax strategies to optimise the company's tax position.
• Oversee the tax team in preparing computations, returns and related filings, ensuring accuracy, compliance with Nigerian tax laws and adherence to quality standards.
• Lead, mentor and develop a team of Senior Associates and Associates through coaching, feedback and on-the-job training.
• Contribute to business development, including preparing proposals, taking part in client presentations and identifying new service opportunities.
• Take part in developing and delivering internal training sessions and knowledge-sharing forums.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree or HND in Accounting, Finance or a related field.
• Minimum of 5-8+ years of experience in tax, of which 2-3 years must be in a senior position.
• Mandatory professional certification (ACA, ACCA, CPA or equivalent).
• Associate membership of ICAN or CITN.
• Ability to manage information flow on a need-to-know basis.
• Excellent analytical, leadership and interpersonal skills.
