About the role
The Maintenance Supervisor for Mobile Harbour Cranes (MHC) will lead the planning, coordination and execution of all maintenance activities on cranes, spreaders and auxiliary systems to ensure safe, reliable and efficient container handling at the terminal.
Key responsibilities
- Supervise preventive, corrective and predictive maintenance of MHCs, spreaders and related equipment.
- Ensure all work complies with OEM standards, statutory regulations and terminal procedures.
- Prioritise and close defects identified during statutory inspections and examiner defect lists.
- Provide planning input for manpower, spare parts, tools and task sequencing to minimise downtime.
- Monitor equipment performance, trigger proactive maintenance actions and track KPIs such as availability, MTBF, MTTR and PM/CM ratios.
- Lead crane technicians, electricians and mechanics, allocating tasks and managing hand‑overs.
- Conduct root‑cause analysis of breakdowns and implement corrective actions.
- Enforce HSE standards, including toolbox talks, risk assessments and Lockout/Tagout procedures.
- Coordinate with OEMs, contractors and external service providers for complex interventions.
- Manage spare‑parts inventory, ensuring critical components are available while optimising stock levels.
- Maintain accurate records, reports and work orders in the CMMS.
- Drive continuous‑improvement initiatives such as RCM practices, Kaizen activities and process optimisation.
Required profile
- Hands‑on technical leader with strong experience in crane, mechanical, electrical and hydraulic systems.
- Proven ability to supervise multidisciplinary maintenance teams in a high‑throughput terminal environment.
- Solid understanding of statutory inspection requirements and OEM maintenance standards.
- Excellent analytical skills for root‑cause analysis and KPI monitoring.
- Commitment to safety, HSE compliance and continuous improvement.
