Packing Manager – Refinery

About the role

The Packing Manager will lead the end‑to‑end operations of the filling and packaging lines at a refinery in Nigeria, ensuring production targets, quality standards and regulatory compliance are consistently achieved.

Key responsibilities

• Manage daily operations of bottling, pouching and jerry‑can lines, meeting output and quality goals.
• Supervise, schedule and performance‑manage a team of packing operators and technicians.
• Coordinate with production and logistics to align packing schedules with refinery output and dispatch requirements.
• Monitor and minimise product waste, packaging material loss and line downtime.
• Enforce GMP, food‑safety standards and NAFDAC compliance on the packing floor.
• Conduct routine maintenance checks on filling and sealing equipment and liaise with the maintenance team for breakdowns.
• Maintain accurate records of production output, shift reports, material usage and quality checks.
• Train and develop packing staff to improve efficiency and reduce errors.
• Identify bottlenecks and implement process improvements to increase line productivity.

Required profile

• B.Sc in Food Technology, Chemical Engineering or Production Engineering.
• Minimum 5 years of experience managing packaging or filling operations in a manufacturing environment.
