Internal Auditor

About the role

The client is a well‑established mining company in Nigeria seeking an experienced Internal Auditor to join its team in Jos, Plateau State. The role focuses on internal audit, compliance and risk management across head office and mining site operations.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement annual internal audit plans for head office and mining sites.
• Conduct periodic audits of financial, operational, procurement, warehouse, logistics and site activities.
• Review internal controls, recommend improvements and monitor corrective actions.
• Prepare detailed audit reports and present findings to senior management and the Audit Committee.

Required profile

• Minimum of 5 years relevant audit experience, preferably in mining, manufacturing or industrial sectors.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field.
• Professional certification such as CIA (Certified Internal Auditor) or CA (Chartered Accountant).

Required skills

• Experience with financial record review, payroll, vendor payments and procurement transactions.
• Knowledge of inventory management, mineral stock movement and warehouse controls.
• Ability to conduct spot checks and surprise audits at mining locations.
