About the role
The Project Accountant will lead financial control and reporting for capital projects within a manufacturing environment, ensuring compliance with IFRS and local tax regulations.
Key responsibilities
- Establish and maintain financial control frameworks for project budgets, tracking actual expenditures against approved capital allocations.
- Manage vendor invoicing, multi‑currency payments, and tax retentions (WHT, VAT) for international OEMs and local contractors.
- Create and maintain a Fixed Asset Register, moving items from work‑in‑progress to capitalized assets.
- Provide real‑time financial reporting, burn‑rate metrics, and cash‑flow forecasts to the Project Director and Group CFO.
- Ensure audit and statutory compliance with IFRS, corporate governance manuals, and local regulations.
Required profile
- Minimum degree in Accounting or related discipline; professional certification (ICAN, ACCA) required.
- At least 8 years of project accounting, cost control, or fixed‑asset accounting experience, preferably in manufacturing or capital‑intensive projects.
Required skills
- Advanced proficiency in SAP FICO and Excel financial modeling.
- Strong knowledge of IFRS, IAS 16 asset capitalization, and multi‑currency project accounting.
- Experience with ERP systems, tax compliance (WHT/VAT), and financial reporting standards.
