Financial Controller (Reporting, Budgeting & Risk Management)

About the role

The Financial Controller will oversee all financial, accounting, and reporting functions, ensuring strong governance, cost control, and compliance with Nigerian tax and regulatory requirements. Reporting directly to the Managing Director, the role supports business growth and operational efficiency.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee accounting operations including accounts payable, receivable, payroll, and general ledger.
• Manage cash flow planning, treasury operations, and working capital.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports and budgets.
• Provide financial analysis and strategic insights to support business planning.
• Establish internal controls, ensure tax compliance, and coordinate audits.
• Lead and develop the finance team, setting performance goals and fostering accountability.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (Master’s/MBA advantageous).
• Professional certification such as ICAN/ACA, ACCA, CPA, or CFA.
• Minimum 10 years progressive finance experience, with at least 5 years in senior leadership.
