Human Resource Officer

About the role

Davidsecourt is looking for a Human Resource Officer based in Lagos, Marina. The role covers HR strategy and day-to-day operations, recruitment, employee relations, performance management, compensation and administration, policy and compliance, reporting, and culture and organisational development.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement HR policies and initiatives aligned with business goals, oversee daily HR operations and advise management on workforce needs.
• Manage the full recruitment cycle from planning to onboarding, work with hiring managers for timely hiring and maintain a talent pipeline.
• Act as first point of contact for HR issues, handle grievances and disciplinary matters confidentially, promote a positive culture and conduct exit interviews.
• Oversee appraisals, set performance expectations, manage improvement plans and identify training needs.
• Support payroll, manage leave and attendance records, prepare HR letters and documents, and maintain confidential employee files.
• Develop and communicate HR policies, ensure compliance with Nigerian labour laws and ensure fair application of policies.
• Prepare HR reports (headcount, turnover, attendance), track workforce trends and maintain HR databases.
• Drive engagement, teamwork and culture initiatives, and support workforce and succession planning.
• Assist with the HR budget, monitor expenses and provide HR insights in management meetings.

Required profile

• A minimum of 3 years of experience.
• A minimum of a degree in a related field.
