Head Chef

About the role

Castel Resources is hiring a Head Chef in Anambra, Nigeria. The role covers preparing meals to recipe and menu standards, managing the kitchen team and keeping food safe and hygienic.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and cook meals according to established recipes, menus and quality standards.
• Plan menus and recommend dishes based on customer preferences and available ingredients.
• Maintain cleanliness, food safety and hygiene standards throughout the kitchen.
• Monitor food inventory, manage ingredient usage and minimise waste; ensure proper storage and handling of food items.
• Coordinate kitchen assistants and other kitchen staff where necessary.
• Monitor portion sizes, presentation and food quality before service.
• Report kitchen equipment issues and supply requirements to management.

Required profile

• Proven experience as a Chef or in a similar professional kitchen role.
• Relevant culinary training or certification is an advantage.
• Good understanding of food safety, sanitation and kitchen hygiene.
• Ability to plan menus, manage ingredients and control food costs.
• Good time management, organisation and teamwork skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and maintain consistent food quality.
• Willingness to work in Awka, Anambra State.
