Biological Scientist – Microbiology

About the role

We are seeking a remote Biological Scientist specialized in Microbiology to support AI‑driven research projects. This contract position offers flexible hours (10‑40 hrs/week) and competitive hourly rates.

Key responsibilities

• Investigate and analyze the development, morphology, and behavior of bacteria, fungi, and algae.
• Support medical microbiology studies by examining the relationship between microorganisms and disease.
• Assess the impact of antibiotics and other agents on microbial populations to improve AI model accuracy.
• Document experimental procedures and findings clearly for integration into AI training data.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure scientific rigor and data integrity.
• Provide expert written and verbal explanations of microbiological phenomena for both real‑world and computational contexts.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Biology, Microbiology, Chemistry or a related discipline.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to scientific accuracy.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills for technical collaboration.
• Ability to work independently in a fully remote, digital‑first environment.

Required skills

• Knowledge of bacterial, fungal and algal systems.
• Experience investigating microbial structure and physiology.
• Proficiency in documenting laboratory processes and results.
