Consultant – Family Medicine

About the role

The Consultant in Family Medicine will deliver comprehensive, patient‑centered care to individuals and families of all ages at AMCE. The role combines direct clinical duties, chronic disease management, preventive health services, and leadership of a multidisciplinary team.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct thorough assessments and develop individualized care plans for acute and chronic conditions.
• Provide preventive services such as vaccinations, cancer screenings, and health education.
• Manage complex comorbidities, polypharmacy, and coordinate care with specialists.
• Lead multidisciplinary team rounds, mentor junior doctors and medical students, and participate in hospital committees.
• Ensure accurate clinical documentation, coding, billing, and compliance with data‑privacy regulations.
• Implement telehealth solutions for remote monitoring and follow‑up.

Required profile

• MBBS or equivalent medical degree.
• Board certification or Fellowship in Family Medicine.
• Valid medical licence to practise in Nigeria.
• Proven ability to diagnose and manage acute and chronic conditions across all age groups.
• Expertise in preventive medicine, including vaccinations and health promotion.

Required skills

• Electronic Health Record (EHR) documentation.
• Telehealth solution implementation.
