About the role
The Pharmacy Manager will provide senior operational leadership for AMCE’s pharmacy services across inpatient, outpatient and specialised care areas. This role coordinates clinical, operational and supply‑chain activities, strengthens medication safety and ensures regulatory compliance while supporting service growth.
Key responsibilities
- Oversee day‑to‑day operational management of pharmacy services, including workflow coordination, workforce deployment and shift coverage.
- Monitor service performance, identify bottlenecks and implement improvements to enhance patient experience and departmental productivity.
- Promote safe, evidence‑based medication use, drive compliance with safety protocols, formulary controls and antimicrobial stewardship.
- Lead quality improvement initiatives to improve dispensing accuracy, documentation standards and regulatory readiness.
- Provide oversight of inventory management, stock availability, controlled medicines, cold‑chain products and storage standards.
- Supervise, coach and mentor pharmacists, technicians, interns and support staff, supporting workforce planning and professional development.
- Support strategic initiatives, service expansion and act as the operational link between pharmacy leadership and frontline teams.
Required profile
- Bachelor of Pharmacy, PharmD or equivalent with current registration to practise in Nigeria.
- Post‑graduate qualification or professional certification in Clinical Pharmacy, Hospital Pharmacy, Pharmacy Management or related field (highly desirable).
- 8‑10 years progressive pharmacy experience, including leadership of hospital pharmacy operations.
- Proven track record in medication safety, quality improvement, regulatory compliance and inventory management.
- Experience in tertiary or specialist hospital environments and proficiency with EMR, pharmacy information and inventory systems.
