Chemical Engineer – Central Control Room Operator

About the role

The Chemical Engineer will operate from the Central Control Room (CCR) to monitor and optimise the cement production line. You will work closely with patrollers, operators and shift coordinators to ensure safe, efficient and compliant plant operations.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor all sections of the production line from the CCR and provide real‑time guidance to patrollers and operators.
• Assist in implementing approved production plans and ensure equipment stability, employee safety and environmental compliance.
• Log process data at defined intervals and produce clear operational reports.
• Oversee the smooth operation of crushers, raw mills, kilns and cement mills, offering feedback to shift coordinators and engineers.
• Identify and communicate failures or potential trouble spots, and lead troubleshooting efforts.
• Review the plant automation system continuously and suggest improvements based on best practices.
• Prepare detailed reports on activities and supervise casual staff to keep conveyor belts clean and free of jams.
• Ensure cement and clinker production targets are met during each shift.

Required profile

• BSc in Chemical and Processing Engineering or a related discipline.
• Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in a similar role.
