About the role
The Nigerian Army is opening recruitment for the Short Service Combatant Commission (SSC) Course 50/2027. Selected candidates will undergo military training and be commissioned as officers serving in combat arms or combat support units for a 15‑year term.
Key responsibilities
- Complete the prescribed military training programme and attain officer commissioning.
- Serve in designated combat arms (Infantry, Armour Corps) or combat support arms (Artillery, Engineers, Signals, Intelligence Corps) as required.
Required profile
- Nigerian by birth, aged 23‑27 years by 10 January 2027, meeting minimum height (1.68 m male, 1.65 m female).
- Possess a first degree (Second Class Lower Division) or HND (Lower Credit) obtained from an accredited institution after 2018.
- Medically, mentally and physically fit according to Nigerian Army standards; no criminal convictions or disciplinary record.
- Provide two character references from recognized officials and a letter of attestation from the degree‑awarding institution.
