Security Engineer – Protect Critical Digital Assets

About the role

Kredete is seeking a seasoned Security Engineer to safeguard its critical digital assets and infrastructure. You will act as the frontline defender, implementing robust security measures, hunting for vulnerabilities, and responding rapidly to incidents.

Key responsibilities

• Continuously monitor alerts from SIEM, EDR, firewalls and other security tools to detect malicious activity.
• Lead incident response, performing containment, eradication, forensic analysis and root‑cause identification.
• Conduct regular vulnerability assessments and penetration tests on networks, applications and cloud environments.
• Configure, manage and optimise firewalls, WAF, IDS/IPS and endpoint protection tools.
• Develop automation scripts (Python, Bash, PowerShell) to streamline security tasks.
• Help implement and enforce IT security policies and ensure compliance with standards such as ISO 27001.
• Contribute to company‑wide security training and awareness initiatives.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity or a related field.
• 3‑5 years of hands‑on experience in a cybersecurity role (Security Engineer, SOC Analyst, Network Security Administrator).
• Proven experience with firewalls (Palo Alto, Fortinet), SIEM (Splunk, Elastic, Sentinel), and EDR (CrowdStrike, SentinelOne).
• Strong networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, VPN, network segmentation).
• Hands‑on experience securing cloud platforms, preferably AWS or Azure.
• Solid administration skills for Windows and Linux environments.
