Remote ML Engineer - 60735

About the role

Turing is seeking an experienced Machine Learning Engineer to work on benchmark‑driven evaluation projects for real‑world AI systems. This fully remote contractor position focuses on building, running, and improving production‑grade ML pipelines that assess advanced models.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and modify model training, evaluation, and inference pipelines for benchmark tasks.
• Prepare datasets, feature sets, and metrics for validation and benchmarking.
• Debug, refactor, and optimise production‑like ML codebases for correctness and performance.
• Analyse model behaviour, identify failure modes, and document edge‑case findings.
• Write clean, reproducible, and well‑documented Python code and participate in code reviews.
• Collaborate with researchers and engineers to design challenging evaluation scenarios.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 years of experience as a Machine Learning Engineer or ML‑focused Software Engineer.
• Strong proficiency in Python for data and ML workflows.
• Hands‑on experience with model training, evaluation, and inference pipelines.
• Solid understanding of supervised/unsupervised learning, metrics, and optimisation.
• Excellent spoken and written English communication skills.
