Engineering Team Leader

About the role

This is a high‑impact leadership position at the intersection of engineering execution, team development, and AI‑driven software delivery. You will lead a small, high‑performing engineering team while actively contributing to product development and technical decision‑making in a fully remote, global environment.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and manage a team of 3‑5 engineers, ensuring high‑quality delivery and healthy dynamics.
• Balance hands‑on engineering work with leadership duties, contributing directly to product development.
• Own hiring, onboarding, and continuous development of engineers.
• Provide regular feedback, coaching, and mentorship.
• Drive team planning, prioritisation, and execution with a focus on delivery efficiency.
• Act as the primary spokesperson for the team, aligning with stakeholders.
• Define and implement modern engineering workflows using AI and agentic systems.
• Introduce verification mechanisms such as testing, evaluation, and guardrails.
• Collaborate across teams to improve engineering processes and system design.

Required profile

• Proven experience managing 2‑5 engineers with responsibility for performance and delivery.
• Strong backend engineering background with experience in production systems.
• Demonstrated ability to ship secure, scalable, and reliable software in complex environments.
• Experience designing or adopting automation, workflow orchestration, or agentic systems.
• Strong systems‑thinking ability to break down complex problems.
• Excellent communication skills to align engineering, product, and business stakeholders.
• Leadership mindset focused on autonomy, trust, and continuous improvement.
