Junior Legal Counsel (Associate Trainee)

About the role

Legal Web Solicitors is seeking a motivated Junior Legal Counsel to join its team in Surulere, Lagos. This full‑time, on‑site position is designed for recent law graduates or early‑career lawyers who want to develop practical legal expertise across multiple business functions.

Key responsibilities

• Provide timely legal advice to internal departments on a variety of issues.
• Draft, review, and negotiate contracts, agreements and other legal documents.
• Ensure the company’s operations comply with relevant statutes and regulations.
• Represent the firm in meetings, negotiations and, when required, in legal proceedings.
• Collaborate with senior counsel to support litigation, compliance audits and risk assessments.

Required profile

• Bar‑qualified or called to the Bar.
• At most one year of experience in a corporate legal environment (preferred but not mandatory).
• Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
• Residence in Surulere or its surrounding areas.
