Internal Auditor – Health Maintenance Organization

About the role

The Internal Auditor will independently evaluate the adequacy and effectiveness of internal controls, compliance with policies and regulations across all departments of Noor Health HMO. The role involves conducting operational, financial and administrative audits to ensure transparency, efficiency and adherence to standards.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and execute comprehensive audits across functional areas, reviewing processes, records, service delivery standards and alignment with organizational goals.
• Audit claims processes, post‑payment activities of healthcare providers and enrolee management to verify authenticity, compliance and detect billing anomalies.
• Monitor compliance with NHIA regulations, audit filings, premium management and other statutory requirements, escalating breaches and recommending corrective actions.
• Review financial records, vendor payments, payroll, procurement and conduct asset/inventory audits for accuracy and accountability.
• Assess internal control design, prepare actionable audit reports and follow up on implementation of recommendations.
• Uphold data protection and confidentiality standards, reporting any suspected breaches.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics or related field.
• ACA, ACCA or CIA certification.
• 5–7 years of internal audit experience, with at least 3 years in the health insurance (HMO) sector.

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of internal audit practices and procedures.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and audit/accounting tools.
• Understanding of NHIA regulatory requirements.
