About the role
The Associate Principal, Investment Advisory will lead the execution of the strategic agenda for Investment Advisory, driving growth, market share and profitability for the bank’s Investment Services. The role involves providing investment advice to clients and relationship managers, overseeing the P&L, and collaborating with product teams to deliver tailored solutions.
Key responsibilities
- Develop and execute marketing initiatives to acquire, retain and grow the target customer base.
- Provide investment advice to clients and relationship managers, ensuring alignment with client objectives and increasing the bank’s share of wallet.
- Lead the Investment Advisory team, driving revenue, profitability and customer experience.
- Collaborate with product managers (FX, Managed Investments, Insurance, Wealth Overdrafts, Fixed Income) to convey client needs and product knowledge.
- Analyse potential and existing business for profitability, maintain accurate interaction records, and attend client meetings with clear objectives.
- Visit branches to support marketing, disseminate wealth product information and understand client investment needs.
- Identify cross‑selling opportunities and refer clients to other Standard Chartered lines.
- Ensure compliance with group policies, operational risk management and regulatory standards.
Required profile
- Relevant academic or professional qualifications (e.g., BSc/BA) and any required licences or certifications.
- Experience in investment advisory, wealth management or related banking functions.
- Strong understanding of investment products such as foreign exchange, managed investments, insurance, wealth overdrafts and fixed income.
- Ability to lead teams, drive performance and manage client relationships.
- Knowledge of regulatory and operational risk frameworks within the banking sector.
